# Create a Contact in HubSpot

## Use this process to create Buyers, Co-Buyers, Realtors, or combinations of these contact types in HubSpot.

### 1. Open the Create Contact Form

There are two ways to open the Create Contact form in HubSpot: from the Contacts page or using the global "+" button in the navigation bar.

#### Option A: Create a Contact from the Contacts Page

- Navigate to the **Contacts** page.
- Click **Add Contacts**.
- Select **Create New**.

#### Option B: Use the Global “+” Button

- Click the **“+”** button in the top navigation bar (upper-right corner).
- Select **Create Contact**.

### 2. Enter Contact Information

Complete the required contact information, including:

- Email Address
- First Name
- Last Name
- **I am registering/creating:**

**Note: Additional fields may appear based on the contact type selected.**

### 3. Select the Contact Type

The contact creation form can create multiple related contacts during a single submission. When creating a contact, you will be asked to select a contact type from the **"I am registering/creating:"** dropdown.

**Select the option that best matches the situation. HubSpot will display the appropriate fields based on your selection.**

Available options include:

- Buyer Only
- Co-Buyer
- Realtor Only
- Buyer and Co-Buyer
- Buyer with Realtor
- Buyer and Co-Buyer with Realtor

### Prevent Duplicate Contacts

HubSpot automatically checks for existing contacts using the email address entered.

If a matching email address already exists:

- HubSpot will display a warning message.
- A link to the existing contact record will be provided.
- Review the existing record to determine whether a new contact is needed.

**Do not create duplicate contacts.** If the contact already exists, update the existing record instead of creating a new one.

### Sales Opportunity Question

During contact creation, you will be asked:

**"Is this a Sales Opportunity?"**

- Select **Yes** if a sales opportunity should be created for the contact.
- Select **No** if you are only creating contact records.

Completion 

### 4. Complete the contact record

Once all required information has been entered, click **Create** to save the contact record(s).

The new contact record(s) will be available immediately in HubSpot. You can return to the record at any time to add or update information.
