What to Do if a PSClient Contact Is Not Assigned to You in HubSpot
Use this process when a PSClient contact either does not have a HubSpot Sales Opportunity in your name, or has an existing HubSpot Sales Opportunity assigned to someone else.
What This Means
If a contact record exists in PSClient, but the HubSpot Sales Opportunity is not in your name, you should not work from another person’s opportunity.
A new HubSpot Sales Opportunity must be created under your name so you can manage and track your own sales process correctly.
When to Use This Process
• The contact already exists in PSClient
• The contact already exists in HubSpot
• There is an existing HubSpot Sales Opportunity assigned to someone else
• You need to create a Sales Opportunity for yourself
Do Not Create a Duplicate Contacts

Do not create a duplicate contact in HubSpot.
The buyer already has an existing contact record, so you should use the existing HubSpot contact record.
Required Actions
Create a new Sales Opportunity in HubSpot under your name.
The new Sales Opportunity should be associated with the existing HubSpot contact.
Do not work from another person’s Sales Opportunity.
Step 1: Search for the Contact in HubSpot
Search for the buyer in HubSpot before creating anything new.
Use the buyer’s email address first. The email address is the unique identifier, so the email address in HubSpot should match the email address in PSClient.
You can also search by:
• Buyer first and last name
• Phone number
• Community
Step 2: Create a New Sales Opportunity
From the existing HubSpot contact record, create a new Sales Opportunity.
In the right hand column, find the Opportunities (Deals) section.
Click + Add.

Step 3: Enter the Opportunity Information
Fill out the required opportunity details.
You do not need to manually set the deal name. The system will automatically rename the opportunity using this format:
Last name, First name of buyer | Community
The new opportunity should be created under your name.
This allows you to track and manage your own opportunities in HubSpot.

Step 4: Set the Association Label
Before saving, make sure the correct Association label is selected.
The Association label identifies the contact’s relationship to the Sales Opportunity, such as buyer, co buyer, or another applicable role.

Step 5: Save the Opportunity
Review the information, then save the new Sales Opportunity.
Once saved, the opportunity will be associated with the existing contact record.
